Nature Pacific is more than a Coconut Company

Upholding of  Banaban culture and traditions

Nature Pacific is a proudly Banaban owned company and while the main aim of the company is to produce, manufacturer and market Fiji grown Virgin Coconut Oil to the world, the company also has another very important mission.

Nature Pacific Managing Director, Ken Sigrah is also a clan spokesman for four major clans back on Rabi Island, Fiji.  He is committed to preserving his unique Banaban culture and heritage.  Before coming to Australia in 1997, he not only was a copra cutter on his Island but also was a member of the Banaban Dancing Group. Over the years he performed at various Pacific festivals and on overseas tours. One of his most memorable performances was the group's involvement in the Opening Ceremonies of the Sydney Opera House in Australia in 1972.

Every bottle of our product carries the Banban Story and a link to the Banaban website which was founded back in 1993 by fellow Nature Pacific director, Stacey King. Today the Banaban website is proudly sponsored by  Nature Pacific.

Ken still tries to find time to attend cultural performances and speak at conferences about his people - The Banabans, who are now referred to as 'the Forgotten People of the Pacific'.

In this YouTube clip we see Ken performing the 'te Ruoia' (Sitting Dance) at the Kiribati Independence celebrations in Brisbane in 2003.
